Farewell to Commodore Commandant and Society President
Indian Society of Aerospace Medicine bids adieu to the previous president Air Mshl Rajvir Singh VSM PHS on 31 Mar 19 after his remarkable appointment as society president as well as Commodore Commandant of the Institute of Aerospace Medicine IAF.
International Presence by the Members
ISAM received its representation at the 90th Annual Scientific Meeting of Aerospace Medical Association (AsMA) held at Las Vegas, USA from 05 to 09 May 19. In this event Gp Capt NK Tripathy, Sr Adv (Av Med) presented a scientific paper titled ‘24-hour Ambulatory BP Monitoring (ABPM): A Useful Tool for Screening of Latent Hypertension Among Indian Air Force personnel with Higher BMIs’ and Flt Lt E Srihari, a life member of ISAM presented a paper titled ‘An Objective Tool for Assessing Fatigue: Oculometric parameters’. He was subsequently adjudged as the ‘Runners-up in Young Investigator Award’ for his paper and was appreciated by the DGMS (Air) for his achievement.
Human Engineering Workshop Conducted at ISRO
A workshop on human engineering aspects relevant to Human Space program was conducted for the benefit of the ISRO scientists at ISRO facilities at Devanahalli on 1st Apr 2019. About 35 ISRO scientists from various ISRO centres including Dr VR Lalitha Ambika, Director of Directorate of HSP. The contents of the workshop were well received and appreciated heartily.
