At the outset, it is heartening to share with the readers that the Indian Journal of Aerospace Medicine has achieved a significant milestone of getting officially indexed in “Embase.” I extend my sincere gratitude and thanks to the passion and vision of my predecessors and the Editorial Board Members. I also take this opportunity to extend my gratitude to the authors and contributors for their dedication, thereby enhancing its role as a forum for cutting-edge research in the area of Aerospace Medicine. All our future efforts shall aim at raising the Journal’s profile within the Aerospace community, ensuring its status as the leading destination for top research in Aerospace Medicine.
The present issue of the Journal presents to you a collection of intellectually stimulating and interesting articles. Adding to our data base in the field of Space Medicine is an original research paper bringing out anthropometric changes in microgravity. The vestibular system has been an interesting and intriguing field for research. We bring to you an original research work on this and also an interesting article on decoding the air sickness. This edition also brings forth a predictive model, the Bayesian Instrument for assessing flying fitness in aircrew following any spinal disability. The contribution of the members of the society in the field of Aviation Pathology is very significant. We bring to you an article on study conducted on histopathology examination of autopsy samples bringing out the prevalence of liver abnormalities in aircrew. All this and more await the readers in the present issue.
The Editorial team requests the readers and members of the society to send us your rigorous research to enable the journal to advance in its mission. In addition, I take this opportunity to encourage the young specialists in the field to share with us their concerns, perspectives, field experiences, and case reports.
I thank all the contributors, readers, reviewers, and the editorial board members for their valuable support and contribution to the Journal.
Welcome aboard and Happy Reading!!
