Letter to the Editor
Refer the article titled “Stressors and stress coping strategies among civil pilots: a pilot study” by Dr Leo Jeeva SP and Dr V Chandra Mohan which was published in the Indian Journal of Aerospace Medicine, 52 (2), 2008, 60-64. I would like to bring to your notice that the content in pages 60, 61, 62 and 64 has been lifted verbatim from pages 4,2,6,7, and 14 and 15 of a previous report – IAM Departmental Project No. 159/2/95 titled “Psychological stress and coping: a preliminary study on Indian commercial airline pilots” by Dr Catherine S George, Dr AK Maitra, Gp Capt GS Nayar and Mr IR Reddy. This past study and the authors have not been acknowledged either in the references or otherwise, and this is in direct violation of ethical principles that should govern the writing of journal articles printed in IJASM.
